Adeline (Van Zee) Vanden Bos, 87, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Corsica, SD passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Washington Crossing Senior Living in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral Services are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the New Holland Christian Reformed Church. A Committal Service will follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Mount Funeral Home in Platte, SD with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service. Adeline (Van Zee) Vanden Bos was born on June 10, 1926 to Tony and Jennie (Van Zanten) Van Zee in Douglas County, SD. She attended Kuening Country School and was united in marriage to Orville Vanden Bos on January 15, 1945. To this union five children were born: Leon, Linda, Leslie, Lanetta and Ladene. Together they raised three foster sons: Clyde Johnson, Ray and Gordon Quilt, as well as being foster parents to 30 foster children. They lived on a farm in Aurora County, SD until retiring in 1990. She enjoyed sewing and keeping in contact with others through letter writing.

Adeline was a lifelong member of the New Holland Christian Reformed Church and accepted Jesus as her Savior from sin. She taught Sunday School, Bible School, was a member of many Bible studies and shared Jesus love with the Native American children of Lake Andes, SD for many years. She took part in Lay Witness and Sprit Alive Missions. Her greatest joy was in serving Christ through children's ministries. The work of spreading the gospel led her to travel throughout the USA, Canada and the Philippines.

Grateful for having shared in Adelines life: her husband of more than 69 years, Orville Vanden Bos of Sioux Falls, SD; five children: Leon (Patti) Vanden Bos of Sioux Falls, SD, Linda Vanden Hoek of Corsica, SD, Leslie (Marilyn) Vanden Bos of Sturgis, SD, Lanetta (Ken) Van Zee of Armour, SD, and Ladene (Terry) Veldhouse of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a foster son, Ray Quilt; along with several nieces and nephews.

Adeline was preceded in death by: her parents; grandparents; two brothers: Lloyd and Darrel Van Zee; an infant grandchild, Jamie Vanden Bos; two great-grandchildren: Matthew Vanden Bos and Landen Wieler; a son-in-law, Rodney Vanden Hoek; a sister-in-law, Elmira Van Zee; and two foster sons: Clyde Johnson and Gordon Quilt.
