Andrew "Andy" Walma, 75, died at the Good Samaritan Center in Corsica on Monday, September 23, 2013. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013, 10:30 AM at Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Corsica with burial following in Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at the Netherlands Reformed Gym in Corsica with closing scripture and prayer at 7:50 PM. Memorials are prefered in lieu of flowers to be given to the Netherlands Reformed School. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Andrew "Andy" Walma was born on March 28, 1938 to John and Jennie (Van Dyke) Walma in Ada, MI. He attended Townline Country School near Ada and Caledonia High School in Caledonia, MI. He worked construction for a couple years in Michigan, then he moved with his family to Platte, SD in 1957 where he worked for Bud Meyers Construction. He married Rolena Zomer on May 31, 1957 in Corsica, SD. They farmed near Platte for a year before moving to their farm northeast of Stickney, SD. In 2010 they moved to Corsica. Andy was a member of Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Corsica. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. On September 13, 2013, he entered the Good Samaritan Center in Corsica where he died on September 23, 2013 at the age of 75.

He is survived by his wife, Rolena of Corsica, SD, 3 children, Andrew Jr. (Susan) Walma of Grand Rapids, MI, Cindy (Dan) Kwekel of Grand Rapids, MI, and Julie (Myron) Baan Hoffman of Stickney, SD, brother, John Jr. (Julie) Walma of Sioux Falls, SD, 2 sisters, Betty (Adrian) Spaans of Grand Rapids, MI and Kathleen (James) Koedam of Corsica, SD, son-in-law, Arnold (Donna) Van Veldhuizen of Inwood, IA, 21 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jacqueline Van Veldhuizen, and son, Donald Walma.
