Anna Scholten, 91, died on April 13, 2009 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Grace Reformed Church in Corsica with burial following in Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Visitation will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Grace Reformed Church in Corsica. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Anna Scholten was born on December 30, 1917 to Edward and Marie (Brink) DeWaard at Harrison, SD, the oldest of nine children. Her family later moved to the Aurora Center, SD area where she attended country school and was baptized and made confession of faith at the Aurora Reformed Church. She married Frederick Scholten on February 22, 1944 at her parents home. They lived on a farm west of Corsica, SD, where Anna continued to live following Fred's death in 1985. She moved to Harrison, SD in 1997, and then into the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica in 2004. Anna always enjoyed gardening, and in her spare time she kept busy with quilting and many other kinds of handiwork, as well as reading, especially her Bible. She died on April 13, 2009 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica at the age of 91.

She is survived by five children: Mary Delange and husband, Bruce of Morrow, OH; Gary Scholten and wife, Connie of Loomis, SD; Ed Scholten and wife, Pam of Fort Collins, CO; Sharon Dykstra and husband, Dave of Mitchell, SD and Nancy Reimnitz and husband, Sam of Armour, SD; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Irene Nydam and Nellie Breukelman both of Stickney, SD; two brothers; Dick DeWaard of Lynden, WA and Adrain DeWaard and wife, Viola of Mitchell, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant daughter, Clarice, and four sisters.
