Henrietta Veurink, 92, New Holland, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Platte Care Center, Platte.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at New Holland Christian Reformed Church, New Holland. Burial will be in New Holland Cemetery, New Holland. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mount Funeral Home, Platte, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Henrietta Albertha (Beltman) Veurink was born on April 22, 1919, to John A. and Bertha (Van Zee) Beltman in Douglas County.

She attended Clark Christian School in rural New Holland.

On March 29, 1939, she united in marriage to Henry J. Veurink in Douglas County. Together they raised their family and farmed north of New Holland, retiring in 1980 and moving to New Holland.

Henrietta was a member of the New Holland Christian Reformed Church, Harmony Workers, Hosanna Club, Priscilla Ladies Aid and the DCHS Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in her garden, caring for her flowers and canning what she grew.

Grateful for having shared in Henrietta’s life: her five children: Beverly (Gene) Hoefert of Plankinton; Ramona (Ron) Pavlin of Mitchell; Wendell (Patrice) Veurink of Bird Island, Minn.; Myron (Donna) Veurink of Harrison; and Chris Veurink of Modesto, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Albert (Delilah) Beltman of Platte; and Wilbur (Geneva) Beltman of New Holland; two sisters: Frances (Orin) Van Zee of Platte; and Albertha (William) Vreugdenhil of Corsica; a brother-in-law: Ralph (Elsie) Veurink of New Holland; three sisters-in-law: Johanna Feenstra of New Holland; Jennie Kaemingk of Corsica; and Ruth (Marlo) Biesma of Tyndall; many nieces and nephews; along with special friends: Patsy Iedema and Anna Mae and Marion Veurink.

Henrietta was preceded in death by: her husband, Henry (Aug. 27, 2005); a son, John R. Veurink (Jan. 13, 1997); two infant great-grandchildren; her parents; two sisters: Albertha Beltman and Jean (Robert) Brumbaugh; her parents-in-law; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Gradus (Margaret) Veurink; Andrew Feenstra; Ted Kaemingk; Tony (Geneva) Veurink; Minnie (Robert) Van Zee; and Hermann (Wilhelmina) Veurink.
