Jennie Kok, 95, Corsica, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christian Reformed Church, New Holland. Burial will be in New Holland, Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mount Funeral Home, Platte, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

She was born on June 14, 1914, on a farm west of Platte to Albert and Henrietta (Wever) Timmermans.

On Nov. 22, 1934, she married Cornelius Kok of New Holland.

They lived together for 40 years on two different farms west of New Holland.

They also were custodians at Dakota Christian School for 13 years.

In 1974, they retired and moved to New Holland. In 1981, they retired from their custodial duties.

She was a member of New Holland Christian Reformed Church, Ladies Aid and Hosanna Club.

She also served on Dakota Christian School Auxiliary.

Her husband died on Sept. 22, 1991.

She had been residing at Good Samaritan Center, Corsica.

She is survived by her children: Henrietta Mae Rens and husband Delmar, Sun Valley, Calif.; Albertha Schoon and husband Gene, Corsica; Dennis; and Dorothy Vander Tuin, both of Platte; and Dallas and wife Mary Beth, Geddes; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, Evelyn; a daughter, Arlene Vander Tuin and husband John; a son, Arlo; her parents, two brothers: John Timmermans and Cornelius Boersma; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Kok; and a grandson-in-law.
