Johanna Feenstra, 92, of New Holland, SD passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Corsica, SD. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the New Holland Christian Reformed Church. A Committal Service will follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mount Funeral Home in Platte with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service. Johanna (Veurink) Feenstra was born in Douglas County, SD on March 29, 1919 to Gerrit and Ruby (Jansen) Veurink. She attended Tiemmens Country School and NWA in White Lake, SD. As a young woman, she made profession of faith in the New Holland Christian Reformed Church where she was a faithful member until the time of her death.

On December 19, 1941, Johanna was united in marriage to Andrew Feenstra in New Holland. They farmed north of New Holland until 1978 when they retired and moved to New Holland. Johanna moved into the Leisure Living Apartments in Corsica in August of 2011 and became a resident of the Good Samaritan Care Center in February of 2012. She was a member of Hosanna Club and Priscilla Ladies Aid.

Grateful for having shared in Johanna's life: her five children: three sons, Roger and wife Norma, Allen Jay and wife Dianne and Darrell and wife Bev, all of New Holland; two daughters, Jolene Feenstra and Karen and husband Harvey Odens, all of Sioux Falls; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a special family friend, Marilyn Van Zanten; two sisters, Jennie Kaemingk of Corsica and Ruth (Marlo) Biesma of Tyndall; a brother, Ralph (Elsie) Veurink of New Holland; along with several nieces and nephews.

Johanna was preceded in death by: her husband Andrew (March 21, 1996); her parents; four brothers: Henry, Gradus, Tony and Herman Veurink and a sister, Minnie Van Zee.
