Lorraine De Boer, 68, died at home in Sioux Falls, SD on July 7, 2018. Lorraine Brondsema De Boer was born in Parkston, SD on September 14, 1949 to Richard and Esther (Kok) Brondsema. She was baptized and made profession of faith in the New Holland Christian Reformed Church.

Lorraine's early years were spent on the family farm near New Holland, SD. She graduated from Dakota Christian High in 1967. She attended Dordt College and Nettleton College. She taught school in New Holland and Edgerton, MN and was later employed in Omaha, Edgerton, MN, Sioux City and Sioux Falls.

Lorraine married Merlin De Boer on April 8, 1978 in the New Holland Christian Reformed Church. Merlin and Lorraine lived and worked in Omaha, NE, Edgerton, MN, Sioux City and Sioux Falls.

Lorraine had two strong loves, her faith and her family. They attended Good News Church in Sioux Falls, SD. She loved doing crafts and traveling.

Grateful for having shared in Lorraine's life are her husband of more than 40 years, Merlin; her sister Bernetta (Arnie) Wolbrink of Stickney, SD; two brothers, Don Brondsema (Renee) and Eugene Brondsema (Sheryl) all of Platte, SD; and one sister-in-law, Sally Brondsema of Sioux Falls, SD, mother-in-law Sarah De Boer of Corsica, SD, nephews and nieces Joel and Carolyn Wolbrink, Nathan and Rebecca Wolbrink, Autumn and Matt Dickerson, Miranda and Tim Bode, Landon and Rachel Brondsema, Chris Brondsema, Chad Brondsema, Justin and Liz Brondsema, Erin Brondsema, Cade Brondsema; brother-in-law Darrel and Marjean De Boer; sister-in-law Bonnie and Larry Vander Ley; and special friends Chuck and Jody Ley.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Good News Reformed Church. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
