Marlowe G. De Lange, 82, Corsica, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Avera Queen of Peace Health Services, Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Christian Reformed Church, Harrison. Burial will follow at the Harrison Cemetery, Harrison. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Funeral Home, Platte, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Douglas County, to Henry and Alice (Vis) De Lange.

He grew up, attended school and farmed near Harrison.

He married Elmira Vanden Bos on Jan. 11, 1950 in Platte.

He was a member of the Harrison Christian Reformed Church, serving as Elder and Deacon; he was on the New Holland and Dakota Christian School Boards; participated in the DCS Foster Grandparent Program; was a Douglas County Commissioner; and a Farm Bureau member.

He is survived by six children: Dorothy Koupal, Sioux Falls; Darrell, Glendive, Mont.; Rod and wife Jeanine; Brent, all of Corsica; Brenda Van Zee and husband Doug, Canton; and Kristi Sachs and husband Bill, Brainerd, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother Henry De Lange and wife Jeanette, Platte; a sister-in-law, Bernice Jaeger and husband Harold, Geddes; a brother-in-law, John Vanden Bos and wife Carol, Platte; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009; a granddaughter; his parents; three sisters: Marie De Lange, Henrietta Pranger and Helen Anema; and two brothers, Jake and Heyme.
