Martha Droge, 86, Corsica, formerly of Stickney, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Aurora Reformed Church, Aurora Center, with the Rev. Dan Ebbens officiating. Burial will be in Aurora Center Cemetery, Aurora Center. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lien Funeral Chapel, Stickney, with a 4 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1923, in Douglas County to Dirk and Dina (Kuening) Overweg.

Her family moved to Aurora County.

Her parents had both died by the time she was 13 and she lived with her older brother.

On Nov. 9, 1945, she married Jacob Droge in Manhattan, Mont.

They farmed all their lives until retiring in 1984 to the Stickney area.

She moved to Corsica following her husband's illness and death.

She is survived by four children: John and wife Evelyn, Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; Dorothy Muilenburg and husband Norman, Corsica; Ilien Ymker and husband John, Sioux Center, Iowa; and Ron and wife Beverly, Sioux Falls; 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, her parents, six brothers: Charles, John Maynard, Dick and Bert Overweg; and two sisters: Minnie Lemeke and Dena Overweg.
